Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Night Support Worker to provide high-quality care for children with learning disabilities in a residential setting. This role involves supporting children during overnight hours, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. Duties
- Provide overnight support and supervision for children with learning disabilities, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the night.
- Assist children with personal care routines, including toileting, dressing, and bedtime routines.
- Implement and follow individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs and preferences.
- Monitor children’s behaviour and emotional well-being, offering reassurance and support as needed.
- Record observations accurately and report any concerns or incidents to senior staff promptly.
- Support children in engaging in suitable activities that promote their development and independence.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure cohesive care delivery.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to care documentation using IT systems.
Skills
- Experience working with children, particularly those with learning disabilities or special needs.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, families, and team members.
- Knowledge of child care practices and the ability to implement care plans accurately.
- Driving licence is advantageous for transporting children or attending appointments outside the residence.
- IT literacy skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Compassionate nature with patience, understanding, and a calm demeanour during challenging situations.
- Organised approach to managing routines and recording observations diligently.
