Role: Apprentice Site Engineer
Location: Cardiff
Contract: FTC for the duration of the apprenticeship, with a view to becoming permanent once completed

As GRAHAM continues to grow, we’re looking for a number of enthusiastic Apprentice Site Engineers to join our team in Cardiff. This is a fantastic opportunity to kick-start your career, gaining hands-on project experience while working alongside an experienced Site Management team. Alongside your role, you’ll complete your studies on a day or block release basis at college or university.

The Apprentice Site Engineer shall assist the Site management team to:
- Undertake Surveying and setting out duties.
- Check drawings and keep drawing register updated.
- Assist in scheduling of materials.
- Liaise with any consultants
- Supervise and monitor the site labour force and monitor the work of any sub-contractors.
- Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
- Undertake the testing and calibration of instruments used.
- Arrange testing of materials as per PQP
- Resolve technical problems that may arise
- Keep a Site Diary – Site Filing
- Liaise with other departmental managers.
- Ensure quality records necessary to meet PQP are collated and maintained
- Fully interact with other members of the construction site team
- Organise site operations
- Monitor Programme
- Interact with other members of the construction site team
Essential requirements:
- Resident of the city of Cardiff or close surrounding area
- Demonstrate a strong desire for the role
- Demonstrate an ability to work on own initiative.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills
- Minimum 4 GCSE’s or equivalent at C level or above, minimum B in Maths/English. Under the new grading of GCSE’s this equates to a grade 5 at C level and grade 6 at B level.
Desirable requirements:
- Knowledge of the Construction Industry
- A strong interest in developing a STEM career within the Construction Industry
