As our Ecommerce operation continues to grow, we're looking for a motivated and flexible Class 1 Ecommerce Cover Driver to join our Luton team. This is a unique opportunity to become an expert across multiple routes, support driver development, and play a key role in ensuring outstanding service for our customers.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Cover Driver, you'll be trained across all Ecommerce routes operating from the depot across all classes of vehicle and become a key member of the team, stepping in where needed to ensure seamless service delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Covering routes during driver holidays, absence, and planned leave
- Completing collections and deliveries to strict service schedules
- Using route planning, mapping, and handheld technology to manage daily activities
- Supporting the onboarding of new customers and collection points
- Training and mentoring new drivers on routes and technology
- Assisting with route recovery when required
- Conducting vehicle checks and ensuring compliance with company procedures
- Delivering excellent customer service at every collection and delivery point
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a reliable, professional driver who takes pride in delivering outstanding service.
You'll have:
- A valid Class 1 HGV (C+E) licence held for at least 2 years.
- Experience in multi-drop, collection, or delivery operations
- Strong route planning and navigation skills
- Experience using handheld terminals or driver technology systems
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A flexible approach to working hours and route requirements
- Great attention to detail and commitment to compliance and safety
- A positive, team-focused attitude
