The Speech and Language Therapy team are looking to recruit a Band 3 Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join an excellent, relatively small and highly professional team.
In this role, you will work closely under the direction of qualified Paediatric Speech and Language Therapists to support children presenting with a wide range of speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), including autism, developmental language disorder, and speech sound difficulties. You will deliver therapy through engaging, play-based activities in schools, nurseries, and clinics. You will be responsible for implementing tailored therapy plans, creating innovative resources, and providing vital administrative support to ensure our service runs efficiently. Full training and regular clinical supervision will be provided.

Duties may include but are not restricted to:
Therapy Delivery: Deliver 1:1 and small-group therapy sessions using play-based interventions, following specific care plans set by a qualified SLT.
Setting Support: Model communication strategies for school teachers, nursery staff, and parents to help embed therapy goals into the child's daily routine.
Creative Resource Making: Design and prepare engaging therapy materials, including visual timetables, Colourful Semantics cards, and communication boards.
Progress Tracking: Maintain accurate, timely clinical notes for every contact and provide clear feedback to the supervising therapist regarding the child's progress.
Referral & Data Entry: upload patient data onto the electronic clinical system, and maintain accurate, up-to-date tracking spreadsheets.
Clinic & Diary Management: Coordinate appointment bookings, manage team diary schedules, and book clinic rooms across various community sites.
Document Processing: Format, print, and post clinical reports, discharge letters, and therapy packs to families and external agencies.
