Senior Estates Surveyor
Starting salary between £51745 and £67929 per annum
Based at King’s Court Council Office, Kings Lynn, with hybrid working
If you are an ambitious Chartered Surveyor looking for a new opportunity that combines commercial acumen, strategic influence and the opportunity to shape the future of a place, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. As Senior Estates Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing and growing a diverse commercial property portfolio while helping to deliver some of the most significant regeneration and development opportunities in West Norfolk. Based within our Property Services team, you will work at the heart of decision-making, influencing investment, development and asset management strategies that have a lasting impact on communities and the local economy.
This is far more than a traditional estates role. You will lead on high-value acquisitions and disposals, development viability appraisals, commercial negotiations, regeneration projects and compulsory purchase matters, while acting as the Council's professional adviser on complex property issues. From supporting major growth initiatives to maximising returns from a £4.5m commercial property portfolio, you'll have the opportunity to deliver visible outcomes and shape the future of the borough.
Working closely with senior leaders, elected members, developers, landowners and professional advisers, you will provide expert advice, negotiate complex transactions and lead important property workstreams. You will also help develop the next generation of surveying professionals through mentoring and professional supervision, leaving a lasting legacy within our service.
You will be a MRICS-qualified surveyor with significant post-qualification experience in commercial property, have strong negotiation and valuation skills, and the confidence to operate at a strategic level. Experience in regeneration, development appraisal, acquisitions and disposals, or public sector property would be particularly valuable.
