Casual Painter & Maintenance Assistant

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Painter & Maintenance Assistant to join our team on a flexible, casual basis.
Holdsworth House is a 32-bedroom, four-star country house hotel where presentation is everything. From our guest bedrooms and public areas to our function suites and gardens, maintaining exceptional standards is an important part of the guest experience.
This role is ideal for someone who takes genuine pride in their work and enjoys seeing the difference that attention to detail can make.
Duties
- Carry out painting and decorating throughout the hotel, including guest bedrooms, corridors, public areas and function rooms.
- Prepare surfaces by filling, sanding and making good prior to decorating.
- Complete minor repairs and general maintenance tasks where required.
- Identify areas requiring maintenance and report any larger repair works.
- Work safely and efficiently whilst minimising disruption to guests and colleagues.
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas to a high standard.
- Support the wider maintenance team with general upkeep of the hotel and grounds when required.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous professional painting and decorating experience.
- Has a good eye for detail and takes pride in producing high-quality work.
- Is organised, reliable and able to work independently.
- Has practical maintenance skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Can communicate effectively with colleagues and work well as part of a team.
- Is flexible with working hours to accommodate the needs of the business.
