Help shape the future of manufacturing at Allett Ltd
At Allett, we’re not just building lawnmowers – we’re building a manufacturing business focused on quality, innovation and continuous improvement.
We’re looking for an experienced Production Manager to take ownership of our assembly and manufacturing operation and help us take it to the next level.
This is a role for someone who genuinely lives and breathes LEAN/6 Sigma. We’re looking for a leader who sees Lean as more than a set of tools – it should influence how you manage people, solve problems, make decisions and run production every day.
The role
You’ll lead our production team and be responsible for delivering safe, efficient, high-quality production, on time. You'll also play a key role in developing how our manufacturing operation works, improving flow, reducing waste and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead and develop the production team, setting clear expectations and creating a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Plan and coordinate production activity in line with forecasts, customer requirements and business priorities.
- Embed LEAN/6 Sigma principles into day-to-day production, using tools such as 5S, waste reduction, structured problem solving, CCAR and TPM to deliver measurable improvements.
- Monitor production performance and KPIs, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable improvements.
- Maintain and improve production processes, systems and standards, including BOM accuracy and production flow.
- Work closely with Procurement, Warehouse, Quality and other departments to resolve issues and ensure production has the resources it needs.
- Develop team capability through coaching, training and performance management.
- Lead production improvement projects and contribute to the wider manufacturing strategy.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in a Production Manager or similar senior manufacturing role.
- A genuine LEAN/6 Sigma mindset and a proven track record of embedding continuous improvement into production operations.
- Experience leading and developing production teams within an assembly or manufacturing environment. You’ll be responsible for our assembly, bending and/or manipulating steel, weld and grind processes.
- Strong practical understanding of LEAN/6 Sigma and experience delivering improvements in productivity, efficiency, quality or production flow.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
- Experience using KPIs and data to drive performance.
- Good understanding of production planning, ERP systems and Bills of Materials.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments.
- LEAN/6 Sigma qualification or experience with 5S, TPM, CCAR or similar methodologies would be advantageous.
Is this role right for you?
This role will suit someone who doesn't simply want to manage production – they want to improve it.
You’ll need to be comfortable challenging the status quo, getting involved at the source of problems and working with your team to find practical solutions. We're a hands-on SME, so you'll have the opportunity to make a visible difference and see your improvements put into practice.
