Nursery Manager – Ash Tree Day Nursery, Blacon
Salary: £34,640 per year
Hours: 38 hours per week over 4 days
Working hours: 7:30am – 6:00pm
Location: Ash Tree Day Nursery, Blacon
We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and passionate Nursery Manager to lead our team at Ash Tree Day Nursery in Blacon. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced early years professional who is committed to working with children, supporting and developing a team, and creating a nurturing environment where children are happy, safe and able to thrive.
Working 38 hours across four days each week, you will take ownership of the day-to-day running of the nursery, while also being supported in your ongoing development and progression.
What You’ll Be Doing -
As Nursery Manager, you will play a central role in the nursery, providing strong and positive leadership while working closely with your team to maintain high standards of care and education. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, motivating and supporting the nursery team to deliver high-quality care and learning experiences
- Creating a warm, welcoming and stimulating environment for every child
- Ensuring high standards of safeguarding, health, safety and wellbeing across the nursery
- Ensuring compliance with EYFS, Ofsted and all relevant regulatory requirements
- Supporting, mentoring and developing staff to help them reach their potential
- Managing staffing, rotas and the smooth day-to-day operation of the nursery
- Building strong and positive relationships with parents and carers
- Supporting occupancy levels and enhancing the nursery’s reputation within the local community
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring policies and procedures are followed
- Continually identifying opportunities to improve the nursery and the experiences offered to children
What We’re Looking For -
We are looking for someone confident, approachable and passionate about early years. Ideally, you will have:
- A Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
- Previous experience in a Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager or other senior early years role
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding requirements
- Experience in leading, motivating and developing a team
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Confidence in managing the operational responsibilities of a busy nursery
- A genuine passion for giving children the very best start in life

The Interview Process -
