Salary: £33,000 - £34,000 per annum plus participation in the Central Tronc Scheme (estimated £3,000 - £3,500 per annum, not guaranteed)

Role Purpose
The Assistant Accountant supports the Financial Controller in maintaining an efficient and effective accounts function. The role includes purchase ledger, payroll administration, bank reconciliations, revenue reporting and general accounting support. Working hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday,
Key Responsibilities
· Process purchase invoices including scanning, coding, posting and filing.
· Maintain supplier accounts and reconcile supplier statements.
· Prepare supplier payments.
· Administer payroll and liaise with the external payroll provider / Troncmaster
· Enter bank payments and receipts and perform bank reconciliations.
· Prepare the Daily Revenue Report and reconcile daily banking.
· Prepare and reconcile petty cash transactions.
· Support credit control and sales ledger activities.
· Process employee expense claims.
· Respond to supplier and customer enquiries by telephone and email.
· Generate reports from accounting and hotel reservation systems.
· Assist the Financial Controller in meeting reporting deadlines.
· Undertake ad hoc accounting and administrative duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
· Previous experience in a similar accounting role within hospitality or hotels.
· Strong Sage 200 knowledge.
· Experience with Opera or other hotel reservation systems is advantageous.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
· Excellent communication and numerical skills.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
