Role responsibilities –
- To provide day-to-day support to purchasing and procurement activities, mainly spot purchases from daily sales demand report.
- Work closely with Purchasing management to help with keeping costs down, delivery performances up and stock value to a minimum.
- Create orders based on sales demands and to a stock holding inventory system.
- Review suppliers and seek new supply chains to keep costs down and quality up.
- Review shortages from inventory reports and schedule in stock against usage data and triggers.
- Raise ancillary purchases for stores to keep business productivity running at its optimal performance.
- Chase overdue orders and liaise with sales team on delays.
- Problem solve delays and re-source goods where possible to keep orders and performance to a maximum.
- Deliver departmental objectives to achieve site goals.
- Assist Sales and Purchasing team to identify continuous improvement in order to achieve departmental and company wide goals.
Ideal skills / Previous experience -
- Buyer / Office administration based experience
- 60 wpm minimum typing speed
- CIPS Level 2 or above (training will be given starting at level 2 if applicable)
- Highly PC literate and proficient in all Microsoft packages, including Office, Outlook and Excel
- Previous experience working with business management systems such as SAP/ NAV/ Business Central
- Power BI and Power Apps knowledge is desired
- Familiarity with KPI reporting is an advantage
- Negotiation skills
- Good communication, team skills and time management
- Requires high degree of ownership and flexibility with a primary goal to satisfy customer requirements
- Develop excellent relationships with suppliers
