What You’ll Be Doing
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Local Recruitment Co-Ordinator to join our Academy Recruitment & Operations team.
This newly created role will play a key part in supporting the Academy's recruitment strategy, helping us achieve our ambition to identify and recruit the best local talent across Yorkshire. Working closely with the Head of Local Recruitment and Academy Operations Manager, you will coordinate recruitment administration, trial processes, scouting activity, and operational planning to ensure an outstanding experience for players and families engaging with the Academy.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a Category 1 Academy environment and play an important role in the future success of Leeds United Academy.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Trial Management
Lead the administration of Academy trialists, maintaining accurate trial invitations, recruitment databases, records, and tracking systems.
Coordinate trialist onboarding processes, including trial packs, induction materials, schedules, and documentation.
Support the planning and delivery of trial inductions for prospective players and their families.
Ensure all trial-related activity is organised, professional, and compliant.
Recruitment Operations
Support the Head of Local Recruitment with the day-to-day coordination of local recruitment activity.
Act as a key point of contact for recruitment matters across Academy departments.
Coordinate and administer scout requests, reports, and player tracking information.
Maintain recruitment databases and support the management of identified player prospects.
Events & Talent Identification
Organise and deliver Academy trial events.
Coordinate communications with players, parents, scouts, and stakeholders.
Support event planning, logistics, administration, and feedback collection.
Assist with initiatives to improve recruitment processes and talent identification outcomes.
Governance & Compliance
Work closely with the Academy Operations Manager to ensure compliance with Academy policies and procedures.
Ensure recruitment practices comply with:
EPPP requirements
Safeguarding standards
Registration requirements
Data protection legislation
Governing body regulations
Support player registration and onboarding processes.
Monitor and identify potential registration or compliance barriers.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Produce reports and maintain recruitment records.
Support recruitment analysis and operational reporting.
Identify opportunities to improve processes through data and operational insight.
Contribute to cross-departmental projects and Academy initiatives.
What We’re Looking For

Experience maintaining records, databases, and compliance documentation.

Experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.
Experience providing administrative support across multiple projects.
Desirable
Experience working within professional sport or an elite sporting environment.
Knowledge of Academy football operations and recruitment processes.
Knowledge of player registration procedures and safeguarding requirements.
Experience working with recruitment databases and reporting systems.
Understanding of EPPP regulations and Academy compliance requirements.
Experience supporting talent identification or player recruitment programmes.
