Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team, responsible for enhancing the aesthetic appeal and protection of various interior and exterior surfaces. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction painting, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial properties, ensuring high standards of quality and safety are maintained throughout.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other decorative finishes with precision and care
- Mix colours and materials to achieve desired shades and textures as specified by clients or project managers
- Use specialised tools and equipment such as brushes, rollers, spray guns, and scaffolding safely and effectively
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members regarding project progress and requirements
- Maintain a clean work environment by tidying tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly
- Assist in the planning and organisation of decorating projects to meet deadlines
Skills
- Proven experience in construction painting and decorating techniques
- Ability to operate various painting tools and equipment safely
- Strong communication skills in English for clear interaction with clients and team members
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transportation between sites
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes
- Organised approach to work with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Good physical fitness to handle manual tasks such as lifting materials and working at heights on scaffolding or ladders
