Take the Next Step in Children's Residential Management
An excellent opportunity is available for a Deputy Manager to join an established Children's Residential Home in Hatfield, supporting 3 young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
Offering £30,000–£35,000 per annum, this position would suit an existing Deputy Manager or an experienced Team Leader / Senior Support Worker who is ready to progress into management.
You will work closely with the Registered Manager, helping lead the residential team and maintain a safe, stable and child-centred environment where young people can achieve positive outcomes.
The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager with the effective day-to-day running of the home.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the day-to-day management of the Children's Residential Home
- Leading and supporting the residential staff team
- Providing guidance and supervision to staff
- Maintaining excellent safeguarding standards
- Supporting young people with EBD
- Ensuring care plans and risk assessments are followed effectively
- Maintaining accurate records and high-quality practice
- Supporting compliance with Ofsted requirements and Children's Homes Regulations
- Building positive relationships with young people and external professionals
- Supporting staff development and performance
- Promoting stability and positive outcomes for young people
What We're Looking For
We are particularly interested in candidates with:
- Previous experience within an Ofsted-regulated Children's Residential Home
- Experience at Deputy Manager, Team Leader or Senior Support Worker level
- Experience supporting children and young people with EBD
- Strong safeguarding knowledge
- Leadership and staff-support experience
- Good understanding of Children's Homes Regulations
- Strong communication and organisational skills
A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent would be highly desirable.
Candidates currently working as Senior Support Workers or Team Leaders who are ready for their next career step are encouraged to apply.
