Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent attention to detail, and a strong understanding of food safety standards. Responsibilities
- Assist with meal preparation and food presentation under the supervision of the head chef or kitchen manager
- Support catering events by preparing ingredients and assembling dishes as required
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen areas, including work surfaces, utensils, and storage spaces
- Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of ingredients
- Serve food to customers or staff in accordance with hygiene and safety protocols
- Help with basic cooking tasks such as chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients
- Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying management of supplies needed
- Support the team during busy periods by performing additional duties as required to ensure efficient service
Experience
- Previous experience in a catering or restaurant environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques and kitchen safety procedures is advantageous
- Experience in meal preparation, food safety compliance, and serving is preferred but not mandatory
- A strong interest in culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills within a professional kitchen setting is highly valued
