Off The Wall Creative is seeking an experienced, hands-on Company Accountant to oversee the financial management and day-to-day administration of the business. This role is critical in providing accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong cashflow, supporting operational decision-making, and ensuring the smooth running of the office.The successful candidate will work closely with the Directors and department managers to provide financial insight, improve systems and processes, and help drive profitable growth across the business.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management
- Prepare monthly management accounts.
- Produce profit and loss reports, balance sheets and cashflow forecasts.
- Monitor company financial performance and provide commentary on results.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and reconciliations.
- Manage VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements.
- Liaise with external accountants regarding year-end accounts and audits.
- Monitor and manage company cashflow.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Monitor debtor and creditor balances.
- Implement financial controls and best practices.
Sales Ledger
- Raise sales invoices promptly.
- Monitor outstanding debtors.
- Chase overdue payments professionally.
- Produce aged debtor reports.
- Improve debtor days and cash collection performance.
Purchase Ledger
- Process supplier invoices.
- Reconcile supplier statements.
- Prepare weekly payment runs.
- Monitor supplier account balances.
- Resolve supplier account queries.
Payroll & HR Administration
- Process weekly and monthly payroll.
- Manage pension submissions.
- Maintain employee records.
- Monitor holidays and staff absences.
- Assist with recruitment administration.
- Support onboarding and induction processes.
Commercial & Operational Support
- Review project profitability and margins.
- Assist management with job costing analysis.
- Produce departmental performance reports.
- Monitor overhead expenditure.
- Support pricing and profitability reviews.
- Identify opportunities for improved efficiencies and cost savings.
Administrative Management
- Manage company insurances.
- Oversee office administration functions.
- Maintain company records and documentation.
- Manage utility contracts and supplier agreements.
- Support health & safety administration.
- Ensure compliance documentation is maintained.
Candidate RequirementsEssential
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ATI) or Qualified by Experience.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of management accounting.
- Experience managing payroll.
- Excellent Excel and financial systems skills.
- Strong organisational and administration skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience within manufacturing, construction, signage, fabrication or project-based industries.
- Knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting packages.
- Experience producing job costing and project profitability reporting.
- Experience supporting senior management teams.
