About the Role
We are looking for a Workshop Manager to take the lead at our facility at Donington Park. This is a hands-on management role where you will be front and centre of daily workshop operations. You will oversee a busy workshop team, manage a mixed fleet of performance vehicles and make sure everything is safe, reliable and ready for events.
You will be the link between the workshop and senior operational management, keeping standards high across maintenance, safety, vehicle turnaround times and presentation. The workshops are fast paced, practical and need someone who is confident running a team while still getting stuck in with mechanical works on vehicle - This is a 'working' management role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Recruit, lead, support and develop a team of mechanics and valeters
- Manage daily workshop operations and plan rotas around event schedules
- Assist with recruitment and training of new workshop staff
- Improve workshop processes to modernise and streamline operations
- Oversee technicians vehicle maintenance, servicing and repairs
- Maintain, service and repair vehicles yourself
- Work closely with the parts department and manage stock levels
- Handle warranty processes and documentation
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues where needed
- Attend meetings with senior operations and represent the workshop
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment
- Drive improvements in productivity, vehicle readiness and team performance
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience as a Workshop Manager or Workshop Supervisor
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to help and guide the team
- Confident people manager who can lead from the front
- Organised, calm under pressure and good at improving processes
- Comfortable working closely with other departments and senior managers
- A commercial mindset that focuses on vehicle uptime and cost efficiency
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points and access to your own vehicle
- Willing to work up to two Saturdays per month
