Overview
As an experienced Theatre Healthcare Assistant at The Grange Clinic, you’ll play a pivotal role in upholding the highest standards of patient care, maintaining strict hygiene and infection control protocols, and providing invaluable support to our medical professionals during surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and attentive care to patients, strictly following established protocols and procedures.
- Prepare the theatre, equipment and environment before procedures.
- Assist the surgical team during operations, including supporting the scrub nurse as required.
- Maintain high standards of infection prevention, hygiene and sterile procedures.
- Support patients before, during and after surgical procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety and dignity.
- Act as a chaperone during medical procedures where required.
- Clean, prepare and restock the theatre following procedures.
- Complete daily hygiene checks and end-of-day log sheets accurately.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold a high standard of professional conduct.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, undertaking additional duties within the scope of the role as required by your manager.
Work Hours
Part-time position from 9 am to 5 pm, with occasional Saturdays and flexible hours as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a clinical or theatre setting.
- Experience working within an operating theatre environment is desirable.
- Strong commitment to patient care, infection control and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively in a surgical environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to evolving responsibilities.
