Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all road safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to manage routes effectively.
Duties
- Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Execute deliveries efficiently, maintaining schedules and providing excellent customer service during each interaction.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling of items to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, and compliance.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar commercial driving role.
- Strong navigation skills with the ability to read maps and use GPS systems effectively.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- A valid driver's licence appropriate for the vehicle type is essential; additional certifications for commercial driving are advantageous.
