Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook/Chef to join our culinary team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes and quality standards
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency and presentation standards
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper storage of ingredients
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Serve food to customers when required, providing excellent hospitality service
- Train new staff members in food preparation, safety procedures, and customer service
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Demonstrable supervisory experience and team management skills
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and culinary trends
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide team members
- Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour suitable for customer interaction when serving guests
- Relevant qualifications in culinary arts or hospitality management are desirable but not essential
