As a Residential Children’s Support Worker, you will play a key role in creating a safe, stable and nurturing home environment for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
Working as part of a dedicated team, you will support young people with their daily routines, emotional wellbeing, education, independence and personal development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
- Providing emotional support and promoting positive behaviours
- Driving and accompanying young people to education, appointments, activities and other commitments
- Supporting education and recreational activities
- Encouraging independence and life skills development
- Helping create a safe, structured and supportive home environment
- Completing daily records and reports within regulatory guidelines
- Supporting with household tasks, including meal preparation and daily routines
Essential:
- A full UK driving licence and the ability and willingness to drive as part of the role
- Previous experience within an Ofsted residential children’s home or similar care setting
- Passion for supporting children and young people
- Ability to remain calm, resilient and supportive in challenging situations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards the qualification
Driving is an essential requirement of this position due to the operational needs of our children’s homes and the requirement to transport children and young people safely to education, appointments, activities and other commitments.
This role involves 24-hour shift patterns including sleep-ins.
