We are looking for a motivated and commercially minded person to work alongside the Operations Manager to play a key role in securing business across the scope of work we undertake.
Safe-Edge are a leading Safety Netting & Edge Protection installer, established over 30 years ago and provide a national coverage with repeat customers across the UK.
This role involves Preparation of quotations for both existing and new customers, with the follow up to maintain contact and secure orders.
The successful candidate must be comfortable and confident on the phone, be a motivated and keen negotiator and be fully aware of the their work environment. You will be able to work with a minimum of supervision; be an independent thinker & demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will also need to be an independent thinker with a strong desire to achieve results.
Core responsibilities:
- Build quotations for Safety Nets, Edge Protection, Stair Towers and the Safety systems offered with a logical and consistent approach based on spreadsheets and data bases
- Working from initial client enquiry through to contract award on a variety of construction projects
- Maximising sales/turnover whilst minimising company exposure to commercial risk.
- Processing new enquiries / database management.
- Visits to Construction Sites or existing Client premises to evealuate the scope of works may be required and full training will be given
- Take responsibility to ensure quotations are returned within Client expectations
- Build and develop strong relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Consistently exceed client expectations by providing superior customer service with a 'can do’ attitude
- Ability to develop and influence winning strategies with strong commercial awareness.
- Develop new and existing customer accounts to create new business opportunities
- Chasing enquiries and quotations to convert these to orders, measuring results to Company targets
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the market and our Clients
- Prepare detailed handover to Contracts and the site teams for secured work
- Cost amendments as required for Contract extras
- Previous construction or site experience outside of an Estimating role would be beneficial but not essential as Training will be provided
