Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, hands-on, and experienced Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join our management team at our four-star hotel. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Working closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, you will support the day-to-day operation of our restaurant, bar, lounge, breakfast service, room service, conferences, weddings, and events. You will play a key role in maintaining service excellence, driving revenue, and ensuring operational standards are consistently achieved.
In addition to your Food & Beverage responsibilities, you will occasionally undertake Duty Manager responsibilities, including overnight on-call stay-over shifts, acting as the senior manager on site and responding to operational, guest, and emergency situations when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the management and daily operation of all Food & Beverage outlets.
- Lead and motivate the Food & Beverage team to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Ensure high standards of food and beverage presentation and service are maintained.
- Assist with recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Manage staffing levels and support rota planning.
- Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally, ensuring effective resolution.
- Monitor departmental costs, stock control, and revenue opportunities.
- Support the delivery of weddings, conferences, banquets, and special events.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, licensing, and company policies.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Undertake Duty Manager shifts as required.
- Participate in occasional overnight stay-over/on-call Duty Manager duties, responding to guest, operational, security, or emergency situations outside normal business hours.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous supervisory or management experience within a hotel Food & Beverage operation.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- A passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving.
- The ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and occasional overnight Duty Manager shifts.
- Good understanding of food safety, licensing, and health and safety requirements.
Desirable:
- Experience within a four-star hotel environment.
- Personal Licence Holder qualification.
- Food Safety qualification.
- Previous Duty Manager experience.
