Assistant Financial Controller – Moxy Belfast City

At Moxy, we do hotels differently.
We're social, energetic and full of personality — and we're looking for an Assistant Financial Controller to join Moxy Belfast City, working closely with the Financial Controller to keep our Finance operation running smoothly.
This is a hands-on role for someone who's organised, commercially aware and ready to take ownership in a fast-paced hotel environment.
What You'll Do
You'll:
- Assist with monthly management accounts, financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support payroll, ensuring our Crew are paid accurately and on time.
- Monitor hotel revenue streams and maintain strong financial controls.
- Oversee accounts payable, supplier reconciliations and debtor accounts.
- Manage cash controls, including floats, safe procedures and spot checks.
- Support tax compliance, financial analysis and annual external audits.
- Support and develop the Finance team.
- Work closely with hotel departments to improve financial awareness and performance.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with strong finance/accounting experience, ideally within a hotel or hospitality environment.
You'll need:
- Experience with management accounts, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Great organisation and time-management skills.
- The ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach and confidence taking ownership.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Previous hotel finance experience would be a strong advantage.
The Person
You're organised, accurate and commercially minded. You can manage competing priorities, spot when something doesn't look right and build strong relationships across the hotel.
Most importantly, you're someone the Financial Controller can rely on.
