Operations Manager (Hands-On) – Cart on the Common
Full-time | Wimbledon Common | Salary dependent on experience + Performance Bonus
Cart on the Common is a growing independent outdoor café serving specialty coffee, food and ice cream in the heart of Wimbledon Common.
We're looking for a hands-on Operations Manager who will lead from the front. This isn't a desk-based management role—you'll be working alongside the team every day while taking responsibility for the smooth running and continued growth of the business.
You'll have the opportunity to make a real impact by improving systems, developing staff and helping shape the future of the business.
Your responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations while working on the floor with the team.
- Deliver excellent customer service and set the standard by example.
- Recruit, train and develop staff.
- Create rotas and manage staffing levels.
- Manage stock ordering, deliveries and stock control.
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness, organisation and food safety standards.
- Ensure the business runs efficiently and profitably.
- Identify opportunities to improve operations, customer experience and sales.
- Work closely with the owner to support future growth.
About you
- Previous management experience in hospitality, cafés or a similar fast-paced environment.
- A confident, approachable leader who enjoys developing people.
- Happy to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in during busy services.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Takes ownership, solves problems and leads by example.
- Passionate about delivering consistently great customer experiences.

Pay: £24,420.00-£38,259.29 per year
