Responsibilities
- Monitor residents’ safety and wellbeing throughout the night, ensuring they are comfortable and secure
- Assist residents with personal needs such as toileting, repositioning, or medication reminders in accordance with care plans
- Respond swiftly and effectively to emergency situations or urgent requests from residents or staff
- Keep detailed records of any incidents, observations, or changes in residents’ conditions during your shift
- Conduct regular checks on the environment to ensure safety standards are maintained and report any hazards or maintenance issues
- Support with light domestic tasks such as tidying communal areas or preparing refreshments if needed
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with residents, colleagues, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home, home care setting, or similar environment is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans electronically
- Valid driving license is advantageous for supporting transportation needs or errands outside the care facility
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow detailed instructions precisely
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations with professionalism and compassion
