About the role
At Recoturbo, we re-manufacture, supply, and repair turbochargers for customers across the UK from our workshop in Doncaster. We're looking for a careful, methodical person to join our production team assembling, testing, and calibrating turbochargers to exact specifications.
You don't need to have worked on turbos before — full training is given. What matters most is a steady hand and a genuine eye for detail early on — and the drive to become a fully competent, efficient technician as you settle into the role. This suits people with years of hands-on experience in any trade or hobby — mechanics, engineering, maintenance, model-making, or simply a lifetime of working carefully with tools.
What you'll be doing
- Assembling turbochargers to precise build specifications
- Carrying out flow testing and calibration on finished units
- Checking components and finished assemblies for quality throughout the process
- Using hand tools, torque settings, and measuring equipment accurately
- Keeping clear, accurate build records
- Working alongside a small, supportive team who take pride in getting it right first time
- Keeping your workspace clean and organised (5S/lean principles)
What we're looking for
Essential:
- Confident using basic hand tools and measuring equipment
- A careful, methodical approach when learning the role, with the ability to build up to a confident, steady pace once you're trained
- Able to follow detailed processes and instructions consistently
- Reliable, steady, and comfortable working as part of a team
Desirable (not required):
- Any background in mechanical, automotive, or engineering work
- Experience with testing or calibration equipment
- An eye that naturally spots when something isn't quite right
Why Recoturbo
- Full training on all equipment and processes — no assumptions made about prior turbo knowledge
- You will be given the time to learn the job right, with pace building naturally as your confidence and skills grow — as with any production role, we do need employees to reach a good working pace once fully trained, but we'll never expect that from day one
- Steady Monday–Friday hours (08:30–17:30), with flexible/part-time options available
- On-site parking
- 12-month contract with a genuine possibility of a permanent role
