Job Purpose
This important role is about bringing ambitious event designs to life. Aztec Event Services is looking for a Scenic Project Manager to act as the crucial bridge connecting our clients' creative visions, the commercial realities of a budget, and the physical constraints of a busy workshop and event site. In this dynamic role, you will take ownership of the technical and structural reality of our builds, freeing up our Account Managers to focus on the broader aspects of the show.
Responsibilities
- Technical CAD & Structural Design: Translate conceptual client designs into structurally safe, buildable realities by creating detailed technical solutions, build plans, and CAD elevations.
- Commercial Budgeting: Work directly with Account Managers to prepare accurate project build budgets.
- Workflow & Deadline Management: Prioritise drafting and quoting across multiple fast-moving projects simultaneously to ensure all deadlines are met.
- On-Site Build Leadership: Attend complex site installations to supervise structural construction and ensure the build team fully understands and executes the CAD plans.
- Client Technical Advisory: Attend client briefings and site visits to constructively explain complex technical constraints and structural limitations to non-technical stakeholders.
About You
Are you eager for an exciting new challenge within the dynamic, highly creative stage, set and live events sector? Do you have experience of end-to-end creative production in live events? Then this could be the role for you. We would expect you to have the following:
- An established background working for a scenic supplier, exhibition stand designer/builder or bespoke fabrication company
- A strong working knowledge of professional CAD software and structural event design.
- Strong commercial awareness, with a knack for estimating, budgeting, and supplier negotiation
- Great organisational skills, capable of managing moving deadlines across various projects
- End-to-end project management experience in live events
- Good understanding of event-based health and safety
- A good level of numeracy and excellent attention to detail
- A’ Levels as a minimum, preferably a relevant degree
If the above sounds like you, then we would love to hear from you!
The business mainly provides services to corporate events and trade exhibitions, which generally take place on weekdays. There is a degree of flexibility regarding working hours, as well as an understanding that this is not a 9-5 job.
