DHA Architecture are the leading planning practice in the Home Counties are expanding and are looking for an Architectural CAD Designer to join us.
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Designer to create accurate planning stage design drawings using AutoCAD. The successful candidate will work closely with planners and designers to develop masterplans, detailed layouts and floor plans and elevations for houses and apartments.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD
- Interpret Building Regulations and design specifications into drawings
- Modify existing drawings based on design changes and client feedback
- Ensure drawings comply with relevant UK regulations, Building Regulations, and company processes
- Collaborate with internal teams with questions on design requirements
- Maintain organised drawing records and revision histories
- Perform design calculations where required
- Ensure projects are completed accurately and within agreed timescales
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software
- Demonstrable experience of using AutoCAD on residential developments
- Experience of using AutoCAD for floor plan and elevation drawings
- Experience in developing detailed site layouts
- Experience in apartments and houses
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications (predominantly Excel)
Qualifications
Not necessary, Professional Practice experience required.
