Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Engineering Teacher for secondary school students to inspire and develop the next generation of engineers. Duties
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive lessons in engineering principles, including aspects of biochemistry and scientific research.
- Develop engaging curriculum materials that incorporate laboratory experiments and practical applications of engineering concepts.
- Mentor students through individualised support programmes, fostering their interest in STEM subjects and encouraging academic excellence.
- Manage behaviour effectively within the classroom, ensuring a positive learning environment conducive to student success.
- Assess student work regularly through assignments, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Organise and supervise laboratory activities, ensuring safety protocols are adhered to at all times.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions.
- Support students with special educational needs or behaviour management challenges as required.
- Proofread and review educational materials for accuracy and clarity before dissemination.
- Tutor students outside of lesson hours to reinforce learning objectives and address individual learning needs.

Person Specification Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain).
- Relevant secondary teaching experience or industry engineering experience.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Experience teaching GCSE, BTEC, T Level, or vocational engineering qualifications.
- Industry experience within engineering, manufacturing, design, construction, or related sectors.
- Experience using CAD/CAM software, CNC machinery, 3D printing, robotics, or emerging technologies.
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience leading STEM enrichment activities or employer engagement programmes.
