Key Responsibilities for Infrastructure Engineer / Network Engineer:
- Oversee, manage and optimise VMware data centre infrastructure, including virtual networks, compute, and storage solutions
- Implement, support and manage network and security technologies
- Diagnose and resolve complex network and virtualisation issues
- Interact with vendors for support escalations
- Continuously monitor network and infrastructure performance
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all configurations and procedures
Skills and experience for Infrastructure Engineer / Network Engineer:
Essential:
- Proficiency in managing and optimising VMware data centre infrastructure, including virtual networks, compute, and storage solutions.
- Experience with managing and supporting backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Extensive knowledge in configuring and managing firewalls, routers and switches.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of networking, including TCP/IP protocols, subnetting, VLANs, dynamic routing protocols, port aggregation, load balancing, VPNs and wireless technologies.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services and architectures
- Knowledge if Cisco ACL, Firepower, ISE, Unified Computing Systems (UCS)
- Knowledge of Palo Alto Networks firewalls
- Knowledge of Veeam and Zerto data resiliency platforms
- Understanding of ITIL practices
Desirable Certifications:
- Cisco CCNA
- VMWare VCP
- Cisco Unified Computing System (DCCUCS)
