Nursery Nurse (Maternity Cover – 22 - 30 hours per week, Term Time)
Location: Tinchbourne Street, Dudley, DY1 1RH
Age Group: 0 to 5 years old
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Nursery Nurse to join our friendly team on a maternity cover contract. This role is for 22 - 30 hours per week (term time only) and involves working with children aged 0 to 5 years.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a childcare setting
- Up-to-date knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding procedures
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s development in a safe, caring environment
Qualifications
- Level 3 or higher in Childcare (or equivalent) – certificate required
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a key worker system and oversee the development of individual children
- Ensure children are safe, supported, and their needs are met
- Work as part of a team on a shift rota basis
- Be punctual, reliable, and maintain professional presentation according to the uniform policy
- Attend monthly staff meetings and contribute positively to team discussions
- Support with the upkeep of resources, equipment, and room environment, reporting issues to the Nursery Manager
- Liaise with parents/carers to provide updates and support their child’s learning journey
Skills & Competencies
- Relevant childcare experience (minimum 3 years preferred)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Professional and positive attitude – flexible, respectful, and committed to continuous development
- Confidence in building strong relationships with both children and adults
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references
- Enhanced DBS check (desirable if registered on the update service)
- Right to work in the UK

Pay: £8 – £12.71 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience)
