Summary
- Provide safe, punctual van driving for house removals and multi-drop deliveries; load/unload and transport goods; deliver excellent customer service.
Key responsibilities
- Drive company van(s) safely and legally, following traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform house or office removals: pack, load, transport and unload household furniture/boxes; protect customer property and premises (, straps, floor protection).
- Execute multi-drop deliveries: follow plannedroutes, make scheduled stops, obtainsignatures/evidence of delivery, and updatedelivery records.
- Lift, carry and manoeuvre items (frequentheavy lifting up to company-specified limits);use trolleys, dollies and other movingequipment.
- Inspect vehicle daily; report defects andensure van is clean, fuelled and stocked withnecessary equipment.
- Communicate with dispatch, colleagues andcustomers via phone or messaging; followrouting and scheduling instructions.
- Complete required paperwork or electroniclogs (delivery notes, inventory lists, damagereports).
- Handle goods with care; report and documentany damage or loss immediately.
- Provide courteous, professional customerservice at all times.
- Comply with health & safety and manualhandling procedures.
Requirements
- Valid driving licence for vehicle class required(UK: Category B; Category C1 or higher needed for larger vans).
- Proven driving experience, ideally in removals,delivery, courier or LTL/multi-drop roles.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy itemsrepeatedly.
- Basic numeracy and literacy; able to readaddresses, route instructions and completeforms.
- Good timekeeping, reliability andorganisational skills.
- Customer-focused attitude and ability to workunder pressure.
- Knowledge of local area/routes and ability touse GPS/smartphone apps.
- Right to work in country of employment.
Desirable
- Previous house-removal or furniture-handlingexperience.
- Experience with load securing, packing techniques, appliance handling and use oflifting equipment.
- Forklift, ADR, or CPC/Driver Qualification Card where applicable.
- Basic DIY skills for dismantling/reassembling furniture.
Working conditions
- Full-time, shift-based; early starts andoccasional weekend work required.
- Physically demanding role with frequent lifting,bending and stair work.
- Work both independently and as part of a-crew.
