Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of food preparation areas, assisting with basic cooking tasks, and upholding high standards of hygiene and safety. Prior experience is not essential but a keen interest in hospitality and food preparation is desirable.
Duties
- Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to maintain hygiene standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision to support chefs and kitchen staff.
- Organise storage areas for cleanliness and efficiency.
- Support with waste disposal and recycling procedures to ensure a tidy workspace.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and other kitchen areas throughout shifts.
- Dispose of waste responsibly and efficiently.
- Assist with moving supplies and equipment around the kitchen as required.
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to prevent accidents or contamination.
Experience
Skills such as food handling, basic cooking techniques, serving, and general kitchen experience are beneficial but not mandatory. A positive attitude towards learning and teamwork is essential for success in this role
- Prior experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is preferred.
