Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Restaurant/Bar/Coffee Shop Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, supporting food and beverage preparation, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all patrons. The ideal candidate will be organised, attentive to detail, and passionate about delivering a high standard of service in a fast-paced setting. Previous experience in food service or barista roles is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take orders accurately
- Serve food and beverages in a timely manner, ensuring presentation standards are maintained
- Assist with food preparation tasks as required, adhering to food safety standards
- Operate coffee machines and other relevant equipment efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including tables, counters, and kitchen stations
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
- Restock supplies and ensure stock levels are maintained throughout shifts
- Provide information about menu items and make recommendations to customers
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operation of the establishment
Requirements
- Previous barista experience or serving experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to perform basic food preparation tasks safely and efficiently
- Good organisational skills with strong time management abilities
- Basic mathematical skills for handling cash and processing payments
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment under pressure
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if required
