Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering prescriptions efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. Duties
- Safely operate company vans, in accordance with road safety regulations
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrival at destinations
- Load and unload totes, often requiring heavy lifting and manual handling
- Verify deliveries and obtain necessary signatures upon deliveries
- Communicate effectively with other pharmacy teams, drivers and patients regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Flexibility to cover for other pharmacy drivers
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries made, mileage, and vehicle maintenance needs
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met before each shift
- Adhere to all health and safety policies, including proper handling of vehicles and prescriptions
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within commercial driving or healthcare environments
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling tasks
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple deliveries efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with customers and team members
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations applicable to commercial driving
