We currently have the following new permanent vacancy:
TUNER (Day Shift)
We are now looking for an experienced Tuner to join our weaving team.
Full Time: 48 Hours (Paid Breaks)
Monday to Thursday 06:00 – 18:00
Main Role
To prepare a loom within the Health & Safety & ISO 9001 quality standards in place at Wooltex.
Responsibilities:
· Set-up and start looms after knotting
· Perform loom gear changes effectively
· Apply knowledge & demonstrate an understanding of all functions of machinery
· Select settings to create the correct quality/design, following the information on the weaving ticket.
· Check and pass designs to master standards and progress on the TMS weaving system
· Trouble-shoot during production, understand common faults & demonstrate understanding of how to rectify these
· Work with other members of the shift to maximise efficiency and ensure the high quality of products
· Undertake general maintenance of the looms, in line with preventative programmes or in response to a breakdown
· Identify components for replacement parts and back up stock
· Nurture new talent by assisting with the training of apprentices & new team members.
· Work to ISO 9001 & 14001 standards
· Protect your work environment, yourself & other colleagues by taking care of your equipment, ensuring your workstation is maintained to the highest standard in line with all company procedures.
Qualifications / Experience:
· Applicants would ideally have experience tuning a mix of looms
· Previous experience of Weaving, Knotting, Warping & any other textile procedures
· Excellent attention to detail and effective communication skills
