The Role
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of residents throughout the night. This is an awake role, requiring vigilance, professionalism, and a calm presence.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Supporting personal care needs sensitively and respectfully where required
- Monitoring residents’ wellbeing, sleep patterns, and safety throughout the night
- Responding appropriately to incidents, health needs, or distress
- Completing accurate night-time records, including welfare checks and incident reports
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and calm environment overnight
- Following care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures at all times
- Working seen but not intrusive, promoting privacy, dignity, and comfort
Medication administration may form part of the role, subject to training and competency assessment.
What We Are Looking For
- A genuine commitment to supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism
- A calm, patient, and dependable approach, particularly during lone or low-stimulus working
- Ability to remain alert, responsive, and professional throughout waking night shifts
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including accurate record-keeping
- Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries
- Experience in care is desirable but not essential — full training will be provided
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide satisfactory references
What We Offer
- Competitive hourly rate
- Comprehensive induction and ongoing training
- Clear policies, procedures, and managerial support
- A supportive, values-driven team culture
- Opportunities for development and progression within the service
