Sarkar Tactical Ltd. is an innovative UK defence equipment manufacturer headquartered in Glasgow, with a sales office in Plano, Texas, and a manufacturing facility in Brazil. We are looking for an Operations & Logistics Coordinator to join our growing team.

The Position
- Reporting to the Operations Manager, Director of Operations and Chief Financial Officer.
- Day-to-day coordination and management of a small operations team.
- Supporting the day-to-day administration of our Glasgow office.
- A varied role covering production, procurement, export control, logistics and office administration, offering genuine responsibility from day one.
- Competitive salary: £28,000–£30,000, depending on experience.
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 0830–1630 (some flexibility required to meet business needs).
What You Will Do
Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will coordinate operational activities across production, logistics and export compliance while supporting the day-to-day administration of the business. This is a varied role that provides exposure to manufacturing, international logistics, export control and customer support. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and coordinating a small operations team, providing day-to-day direction and support.
- Logging new customer orders in our CRM/ERP system, Project Osprey, including adding products from the catalogue, generating serial numbers and labels where required, and tracking orders from confirmation through to shipment.
- Keeping stock and production records up to date in Osprey by recording goods received, materials consumed and products dispatched.
- Producing regular reports from Osprey on order progress, shipments and stock levels for the Operations Manager.
- Overseeing the preparation and checking of shipping and export documentation, ensuring compliance with the UK Strategic Export Control List and current arms embargoes.
- Drafting End User Undertakings, submitting export licence applications through LITE and responding to queries from the UK Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU).
- Liaising with freight companies and logistics partners to coordinate international shipments.
- Tracking shipments and maintaining accurate records of shipping costs and delivery times.
- Raising purchase orders for materials and components in Osprey, liaising with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times and deliveries.
- Providing technical product information to the Sales team, including packing specifications, weights, dimensions and dangerous goods classifications.
- Assisting with the preparation of customer quotations and sales documentation.
- Responding to internal and external enquiries requiring product or operational knowledge.
- Overseeing the day-to-day administration of the office, including filing systems and administrative procedures.
- Managing office supplies, equipment and facilities, coordinating maintenance and contractors where required.
- Supporting recruitment, employee onboarding and the maintenance of personnel records.
The role will involve occasional travel within the UK and internationally, including visits to our sales office in Texas, our manufacturing facility in Brazil, trade exhibitions and customer meetings. While travel is infrequent, it offers an excellent opportunity to gain a broader understanding of the business.
Essential Requirements
- Degree (or equivalent qualification), or relevant experience in an operations, logistics or coordination role.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Valid passport.
About You
- An experienced and confident coordinator, comfortable managing people as well as processes.
- Practical and hands-on, equally comfortable in a factory or office environment.
- An excellent communicator with strong written English.
- Organised and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Confident using and learning new software systems. Full training will be provided on our Project Osprey ERP system.
- Genuinely interested in the defence industry and tactical equipment.
- Calm under pressure and willing to take ownership of problems.
As a representative of Sarkar Tactical, you’ll be professional, well-presented and committed to delivering an excellent service to our customers. You’ll work with international freight companies, UN agencies and military organisations across multiple time zones. Experience within the defence or protective equipment sector would be advantageous but is not essential, as full product training will be provided.
Additional language skills, particularly French, Portuguese, Spanish or Arabic, would be highly desirable given our international customer base, although they are not essential.
