The Role:
We are looking to recruit a Senior Receptionist to join our Reception team at our Head Office in Barrow-in-Furness.
This is a full-time, permanent role supporting the Reception Manager with the day-to-day supervision and coordination of the Reception team, ensuring the delivery of a professional, welcoming and efficient service.
The successful candidate will act as a senior operational presence within the Reception team, helping to prioritise work, maintain excellent service standards and ensure any issues are resolved promptly or escalated appropriately.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the Reception Manager with the day-to-day supervision and coordination of the Reception team

Coordinate daily reception activities to ensure the service runs smoothly and professionally

Provide day-to-day guidance, support and mentoring to Receptionists
-
Allocate work, monitor workloads and help ensure consistent standards across the team
-
Provide a warm, professional and efficient welcome to clients and visitors
-
Answer and direct incoming telephone calls promptly and courteously

Deal with enquiries professionally, resolving where possible or directing to the appropriate department

Take client payments, issue receipts where required and ensure payment information is recorded accurately in line with company procedures

Manage visitor sign-in procedures and ensure protocols are followed

Provide administrative support to the departments as required

Manage post, meeting room bookings, diaries, and appointment systems where required
-
Assist in maintaining a safe, tidy and welcoming office environment

Support the completion of allocated Health & Safety checks and reception-related Health & Safety responsibilities

Maintain confidentiality and comply with GDPR, anti-money laundering procedures, regulatory requirements and company policies

Identify opportunities to improve reception processes and efficiency
You will have:

Reception experience, ideally within a busy customer service environment
-
Experience supervising, coordinating or mentoring colleagues
-
Excellent customer service and communication skills
-
A professional telephone manner and confident, approachable manner
-
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
-
The ability to prioritise multiple tasks and remain calm under pressure
-
Good problem-solving ability and the confidence to escalate issues where appropriate
-
A high level of discretion and confidentiality
-
A proactive, flexible and collaborative approach, leading by example and fostering a positive team culture.

Confidence using Microsoft Office applications

Experience within a professional services organisation such as legal, property, financial or similar is desirable
