The role:
We are seeking an organised and proactive Medical Secretary to join our team. This is a key role providing administrative and secretarial support to ensure the smooth running of clinical services.
All other roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Full time position (36 hours per week)

Shift Pattern - Monday-Friday 09:00am-17:00pm
Key responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive secretarial support to consultants and clinical teams.

Manage patient correspondence, Inpatient waiting list, and medical records accurately.

Handle telephone enquiries and liaise with patients, staff, and external organisations professionally.

Prepare and process documentation, including clinic letters and reports.

Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations at all times.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Previous experience in a medical or healthcare administrative role.

Excellent typing and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure.

Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.
