Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Mentor specialising in Employability & Progression to support young people in developing essential skills for their future careers. This role involves guiding and inspiring youth through personalised mentoring, fostering confidence, and promoting positive development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for youth work, experience in teaching or mentoring, and a commitment to empowering young individuals to achieve their potential. Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one mentoring sessions tailored to each young person's needs, focusing on employability skills and personal progression.
- Develop and deliver engaging activities that promote confidence, communication, and life skills.
- Support young people in setting realistic goals and creating action plans to achieve their aspirations.
- Collaborate with educational institutions, community organisations, and families to ensure a holistic approach to youth development.
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of each mentee’s development journey.
- Organise group workshops or events aimed at enhancing employability skills such as CV writing, interview preparation, and teamwork.
- Act as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and encouragement at all times.
- Stay informed about local employment opportunities and resources relevant to young people’s career progression.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young people in educational, mentoring, or youth work settings.
- Strong teaching or training skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse age groups.
- Proven mentoring abilities with a focus on supporting personal growth and employability.
- Knowledge of special education needs (SEN) is desirable but not essential; willingness to learn is important.
- Compassionate attitude with excellent organisational skills and the ability to motivate others.
- Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or related fields are advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
