YTP has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic assessor / tutor to join the team and make an impact on the growth of Hair & barbering in South Yorkshire.
We are looking to recruit a talented assessor / tutor to carry out assessment of learners working towards Hair & barbering qualifications. The role will be varied and travel within Yorkshire and Humber will be required.

The role will include the delivery of Hair and barbering qualifications to individual learners and facilitating distance learning using our on-line portal. Delivery may include Functional Skills sessions covering Maths and English.
The main duties and responsibilities will include:
Ø To deliver teaching and learning on a range of programmes, with mixed ability learners, from Level 2 to Level 3.
Ø To deliver programmes in a timely manner ensuring high levels of learner satisfaction, retention, and success.
Ø To promote the upskilling of Maths, English and digital skills with all learners ensuring they are reaching their full potential.
Ø To keep records, monitor and track learners progress so that management information and statistical data fulfil the requirements of the organisation’s quality assurance and information systems, whilst maintaining a clear audit trail.
Ø To prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, assignments and assessments as required and to assess learners work in line with organisational and awarding body requirements
Ø To ensure on and off the job training is monitored and recorded demonstrating learner progress.
Ø Regularly review learner progress with learners and employers (where appropriate) at least every 10-12 weeks
Ø To assist YTP in fulfilling its safeguarding responsibilities by protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults who engage with us
Ø To actively promote the Prevent Duty and British values to develop learners understanding
Ø To attend standardisation meetings regularly and act on IQA feedback in a timely manner
Ø To participate in the organisation’s Observation of teaching, learning and assessment and appraisal processes
Ø To contribute to recruitment of, and provide information, advice, and guidance for learners.
Ø Provide robust developmental feedback to learners to help them with their next steps in their career, learning or future aspirations
Ø To actively promote YTP`s course curriculum offer, enhancing learners’ skills and preparing them for future success in their next steps
Ø To carry out such duties and responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act and associated legislation as described in the company’s Health and Safety policy documents.
Ø To carry out Health & Safety pre vetting reports / updates on employer premises
Ø Ensure all relevant KPI measures as agreed with the Learning & Development Team Manager are met
Ø Attend performance review meetings
Ø To ensure that you stay up to date with relevant legislation including health & Safety, safeguarding, equality & diversity, prevent duty & British values etc
Skills, behaviours, and experience required:
o A passion for implementing, enthusing and developing learner’s Hair & barbering skills
o A recognised Teaching Qualification e.g. PTLLS, Certificate in Education
o A recognised Assessor Qualification e.g. D32/33, A1, CAVA
o Functional Skills in Maths, English, and ICT at level 2 or equivalent
o Level 3 Hairdressing and barbering qualifications
o Proven track record in achieving maximum results through effective learner delivery
o Experience supporting learners aged 16+ with positive outcomes
o Excellent time management skills
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
o Excellent all-round IT Skills
o Vocational experience and up to date knowledge and CPD within the sector
o Full UK Driving license and use of own vehicle
o Desirable – a recognised IQA Qualification e.g. D34, V1 or willing to work towards
This position is subject to an enhanced DBS Check.
