About the Role
Little Lionhearts Nursery School is a large, well-established flagship nursery based in a beautiful Grade II–listed building in Harrow. With 168 registered places, we operate with a layered leadership structure designed to maintain high standards of care and a supportive professional team culture.
We are seeking an experienced Room Leader to join our Team Leadership category (Grade 5). In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of your designated room, focusing on operational consistency, quality of practice, and safeguarding excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Mentoring: Supervise and mentor room staff, ensuring effective team coordination and adherence to all nursery policies.
- Inclusive Curriculum Delivery: Lead the planning and delivery of a stimulating, inclusive EYFS curriculum that supports the unique learning needs of every child.
- Upskilling Staff: Actively work on upskilling the practitioners within your room to ensure they lead their relevant areas effectively.
- Child Development & Assessment: Maintain accurate records of children's progress, conducting regular observations and implementing "next steps" to support development.
- Safeguarding: Uphold high standards of health, safety, and hygiene, acting as a role model for safeguarding within the room.
- Parental Engagement: Build strong, professional relationships with parents and carers through regular updates on their child's learning journey.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualifications: A full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification (required).
- Experience: Proven experience as a Senior Practitioner or Room Leader, preferably within a large setting.
- Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, with a passion for developing others and supporting inclusive practice.
- Expertise: A deep understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements.
