Job Overview
We are recruiting an enthusiastic and reliable Assistant PPM Engineer to join our team, supporting the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM), air hygiene, and fire compliance services across secure client sites.
Working alongside an experienced Lead Engineer, you will assist with a range of specialist works including ventilation cleaning, kitchen extraction services, fire damper inspections, and fire compartmentation remedial activities. Due to the nature of the sites involved, applicants must already hold current, transferable CTC Level 2 clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with kitchen extraction cleaning in accordance with TR19® Grease standards.
- Support ventilation and ductwork cleaning activities in line with relevant TR19® requirements.
- Assist with fire damper inspections and annual drop testing procedures.
- Help identify failed equipment, defects, and potential remedial requirements.
- Support fire compartmentation and passive fire remedial works where required.
- Prepare tools, materials, equipment, and work areas prior to site activities.
- Capture photographs and assist with completion of job records, service reports, and compliance documentation.
- Follow technical instructions and guidance provided by the Lead Engineer.
- Maintain appropriate PPE and comply with all health and safety procedures.
- Follow secure-site procedures, including prison security requirements, access protocols, and tool-control processes.
- Travel between client sites as required.
- Participate in technical training and professional development programmes.
QualificationsEssential
- Current, transferable CTC Level 2 clearance.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Practical and reliable approach with a willingness to learn.
Desirable
- CSCS Card.
- Air hygiene or TR19 training.
- Fire damper awareness or inspection training.
- Manual Handling certification.
- Asbestos Awareness certification.
- IPAF and/or PASMA certification.
- First Aid qualification.
- Previous experience within air hygiene, ventilation, maintenance, construction, or fire compliance environments.
