Aims of Job/Job Purpose
Establish and maintain a high standard of service delivery within the Catering provision of the College.
Assisting in the running of the restaurant and maintaining a high standard of catering hygiene and safety.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Responsible for a large unit supporting up to 4000 students, staff and visitors.You will be responsible for cooking and providing hot breakfasts, lunches and an evening service along with the grab and go bar offering sandwiches, wraps and salads.
- You will deal with hospitality functions and you will need to be able to adapt across all levels of
dining from fine dining to BBQ’s.
- Responsibility for managing staff within the unit.
- Responsibility for reporting HR issues such as lateness, sickness and disciplinary issues to your line
manager.
- Responsible for implementing new procedures, stock ordering and rotation of food along with
checking goods/deliveries within the unit and, maintain safe storage and security of stock/
purchases.
- Responsible for all delivery notes and invoices which are then forwarded for the attention of Admin.
- Responsible for the daily purchasing of food stocks from the colleges authorised suppliers within the
given budget.
- To liaise with external and internal customers.
- Responsible for ensuring health and hygiene procedures are being followed (Hazard Analysis and
Critical Control Points).
- To complete daily cleaning and kitchen diaries.
- Responsible for managing a budget efficiently within the guidelines as agreed with you line
manager.
- Ensure that the till is cashed up daily and all money banked within the given time.
- Complete the weekly cash sheet and supplier’s sheet, and send it to the catering office.
- You will maintain the high standards and quality of food and service, developing your team to ensure
consistency, in conjunction with your line manager.
- Have a basic knowledge of diabetics; Show enthusiasm and passion for your chosen profession.
- Undertake any other duties that commensurate with the nature and grade of this post.
- Follow the menus as agreed with your line manager.
- Attend regular meetings with your managers when requested.
- Ensure staff follow the procedures and organsiation standards of your unit, and adhere to the
college guidelines.
