DegreeSix is proud to be supporting a well-established primary school in Peterborough in the search for an experienced SEND Class Teacher to lead a specialist SEND provision.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated teacher who is committed to achieving exceptional outcomes for children with additional needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and supporting the development of a specialist provision for pupils with Autism and complex learning difficulties.
The Role:
- Lead a specialist SEND provision supporting pupils with a range of additional needs
- Deliver engaging, personalised lessons tailored to individual EHCP outcomes
- Support pupils with Autism, communication needs and complex learning difficulties
- Work collaboratively with support staff, parents and external professionals
- Monitor pupil progress and adapt provision to ensure the best possible outcomes
- Contribute to the continued development of an inclusive and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience teaching pupils with SEND
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of Autism and complex learning needs
- Confident adapting teaching to meet individual needs
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Passionate about inclusion and ensuring every child reaches their full potential
Desirable Experience:
- Specialist SEND provision experience
- Experience working with pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Knowledge of EHCPs and personalised learning pathways
- Familiarity with interventions such as Attention Autism and Intensive Interaction
