SDK Recruitment Agency is recruiting reliable, professional DPD Multi-Drop Courier Drivers to join our Newcastle upon Tyne operation. You’ll be delivering parcels swiftly and efficiently across designated routes, prioritising urgent deliveries while maintaining DPD’s high standards of customer service.
This is a self-employed, permanent, full-time position. You can use your own van or opt for a company-provided vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a delivery van to transport parcels across your assigned route.
- Ensure timely collection and delivery, with priority given to urgent shipments.
- Load and unload goods, including heavier items, using proper manual handling techniques.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain customer signatures on receipt.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers about delivery status or any issues.
- Carry out routine vehicle safety checks and comply with road regulations.
- Follow all health and safety protocols during deliveries.
- Assist with warehouse tasks when required, such as sorting and preparing parcels.
Requirements
- Valid full UK driving licence held for at least 3 years, with a good driving record.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role (multi-drop driving experience preferred).
- Comfortable with heavy lifting and manual handling of parcels.
- Strong communication skills and a professional customer-facing approach.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deliveries efficiently during busy periods.
- Good knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations in the Newcastle/Tyneside area.
- Physically fit for long periods driving and handling loads.
- Prior experience in commercial driving or warehouse operations is advantageous but not essential.
