Location: Flint, North Wales (covering North Wales & North West England)
Salary: £50,000–£60,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Company Vehicle + Pension + Performance Bonus
About Us
QSD Fire Systems is one of the fastest-growing fire protection companies in North Wales, specialising in the design, installation and maintenance of residential fire sprinkler systems, mist systems, passive fire protection and fire safety services.
We work with some of the region's leading house builders, developers, housing associations and principal contractors, delivering high-quality fire protection solutions across North Wales and the North West.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Contracts & Projects Manager to lead our suppression projects and strengthen our management team.
This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the Managing Director and Operations Director.
The Role
We are looking for someone who has extensive experience managing construction or building services projects from contract award through to completion.
You will take ownership of our live sprinkler and fire suppression projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
You will lead our project delivery team, manage site supervisors and installers, coordinate design and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and consultants.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for multiple live projects from contract award to final handover.
- Manage project programmes, labour allocation and resources.
- Lead and manage the Site Supervisor and installation teams.
- Coordinate with our CAD and hydraulic design department.
- Chair project review meetings and monitor progress.
- Maintain strong relationships with builders, housing associations and main contractors.
- Identify and manage project risks.
- Manage variations and commercial opportunities.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably and on programme.
- Monitor project quality and implement corrective actions where required.
- Investigate and resolve client issues and complaints.
- Produce regular progress and commercial reports for senior management.
- Support continuous improvement across the business.
About You
We are looking for a genuine leader with the confidence and experience to manage people, projects and clients.
You will have:
- A minimum of 10 years' experience within construction or building services.
- At least 5 years' experience managing contracts or projects.
- Experience managing multiple live construction projects simultaneously.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical knowledge.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Experience managing site teams and subcontractors.
- Strong commercial awareness including variations, project costs and profitability.
- Excellent communication and client management skills.
- The ability to make decisions and solve problems independently.
- A full UK driving licence.
Experience within fire sprinklers, fire protection, plumbing, HVAC, public health engineering or mechanical building services would be highly advantageous.
What We're Looking For
This role is not suited to someone looking for their first management position.
We are looking for an experienced professional who has successfully delivered construction projects, led teams, solved problems under pressure and understands what it takes to deliver quality projects while maintaining profitability.
You should be confident enough to challenge poor workmanship, improve existing processes and help develop the next generation of managers within the business.
What We Offer
- £50,000–£60,000 salary (depending on experience)
- Company vehicle or car allowance
- Pension scheme
- Performance-related bonus
- Company phone and laptop
- Ongoing professional development
- Opportunity to become a key member of our senior leadership team
