Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality care and assistance to an individual with learning difficulties. Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised patient care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met
- Provide behavioural management and emotional support for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive impairments
- Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Support clients with mobility and transportation needs, including driving when required
- Observe and report changes in health or behaviour to relevant healthcare professionals
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including first aid procedures when necessary
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home care, hospice care, or home care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of learning disability
- Valid driving licence preferred for transportation duties
- Certification in first aid is advantageous
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks safely when required
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; some roles may involve evening or weekend work depending on service requirements

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
