Serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, evening dining and Sunday roasts, we are focused on fresh food, great service and creating a welcoming experience for every guest.
Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to support the day-to-day operation of our busy kitchen.
The role will primarily involve pot washing, cleaning and maintaining excellent hygiene standards. You will also provide general assistance to the kitchen team to help services run smoothly and efficiently.
This is a hands-on role that requires a positive attitude, good organisation and the ability to work at pace as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment
- Operate the dishwasher safely and efficiently
- Keep the pot wash area clean, organised and fully operational
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen
- Sweep and mop floors and clean kitchen surfaces and equipment
- Empty bins and dispose of waste safely and correctly
- Assist with deliveries and ensure stock is stored correctly
- Support chefs with basic food preparation when required
- Ensure cleaning products and equipment are used safely
- Follow all food hygiene, health and safety and allergen procedures
- Complete opening, closing and scheduled cleaning duties
- Support the kitchen team throughout busy services
- Report equipment faults, damages or safety concerns to a manager
- Help maintain a clean, organised and professional working environment
- Uphold and reflect The Millhouse Bistro’s standards and values
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen or pot wash role is desirable but not essential
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Able to work quickly and efficiently in a busy environment
- Strong attention to cleanliness and hygiene
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist across the kitchen
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
Full training will be provided.
